Escort Candles
In lieu of escort cards, we made seating candles. The coordinator later went around the reception and lit all of the candles
Sign-in Table, Card Box & Guestbook
These were more DIY tasks.
We handmade our programs full of detailed information to make our guests from both cultures feel comfortable & knowledgeable about the wedding ceremonies.
The card box had a revolving base and had one of our engagement pictures on each side. Two in American dress & two in Indian dress. It had a slit in the top for cards.
Our guestbook was created using both sets of our engagement pics on Shutterfly & had room in the borders for our guests to sign & leave messages for us

Cocktail Centerpieces
We made our own cocktail centerpieces
Reception Dinner Table Centerpieces
We had 10 high & 10 low all white centerpieces. Lilies are my favorite flower and we wanted something the is reminiscent of a pond, lake, bayou, or swamp. Our florist did an amazing job! She included what looked like hanging moss, cat-o-nine-tails, and lilies. They were stunning!
Cake
Our cake was a gift from my aunt. She was inspired by our henna and asked the baker to do a similar design
Candy Buffet
Our favors were candies. The buffet was completely demolished! We refilled it three times over the course of the night and it was empty by the end of the wedding.
We also had a gourmet coffee & tea bar. Hopefully it wasn't completely eclipsed by the open bar :)

Music
DH and I danced to It Had To Be You by Harry Connick Jr. We couldn't choose a song that fit us well enough, but then the day before the wedding DH suggested this one. It was beyond perfect for us.
Dinner
The menu equally represented both DH's Indian and my African American culture. People are still talking about how great the food was.
Dancing
The DJ played a combination of Indian Bhangra & Hindi music with American pop & hip-hop. The dance floor was crowded all night long.
